Strengthening TMR Sensor Development with Ricardo Ferreira as Advisor

Neuranics has appointed Ricardo Ferreira as TMR Sensor Advisor, strengthening our fabrication and process engineering capabilities as development accelerates. 

Ricardo is a Research Group Leader at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL), specialising in nanofabrication and advanced semiconductor processes. With over 20 years of experience in spintronic sensors, he brings expertise in translating complex device architectures into scalable, high-yield manufacturing processes. 

With Neuranics’ TMR (Tunneling Magnetoresistance) sensors operating at picoTesla-level sensitivity, fabrication precision becomes critical to achieving consistent performance at scale. This requires tight control over material stacks, process variation, and device uniformity as technologies move beyond research environments into deployable systems. 

Ricardo will support our future fabrication strategy, focusing on process optimisation, yield enhancement, monolithic integration, and manufacturing scalability. His experience will help establish robust, repeatable process flows that support high-performance devices in real-world applications. 

This builds on our vertically integrated approach, combining advanced TMR sensors, custom ASIC design, and AI-enabled hardware to enable a new category of magnetic sensing applications across XR, industrial, digital health, and beyond. 

Ricardo joins Neuranics, recognising the importance of bridging advanced nanofabrication with scalable deployment, and will work closely with the team to support this transition. 

He added: “Neuranics is setting a new benchmark in TMR sensor performance. Translating that level of sensitivity into manufacturable devices is a critical step. Achieving this requires precise control over fabrication processes to ensure consistency, yield, and performance at scale. I’m looking forward to supporting this transition and helping establish robust manufacturing foundations for next-generation magnetic sensing solutions.”
