Neuranics joins Innovate UK’s GBIP Semiconductor Mission to Canada

From 26 April to 3 May 2025, Neuranics CEO Noel McKenna travelled to Canada as part of the Innovate UK Global Business Innovation Programme (GBIP) focused on semiconductors. The mission brought together a select group of UK technology companies with the goal of fostering cross-border collaboration, building new partnerships, and accelerating commercial innovation in advanced hardware.

The week-long mission included visits to Montréal, Ottawa, Sherbrooke, and Toronto. A key highlight was a stop in Sherbrooke where the delegation was welcomed by the Zone d’Innovation Quantique. Local and UK companies took part in cross-pitching sessions, targeted networking, and site tours of cutting-edge facilities such as 3IT and EQ1. The visit showcased Québec’s growing leadership in quantum innovation and microelectronics, with a strong emphasis on mutual exchange and responsible innovation.

Neuranics also attended the CHIPS North semiconductor conference in Ottawa, connecting with a wide network of Canadian hardware startups, researchers, and innovation leaders. The conference shed light on Ottawa’s fast-growing deep tech ecosystem, now employing more high-tech professionals than Silicon Valley. The event sparked several promising conversations around international R&D, sensing technologies, and access to North American markets.

As Neuranics continues to develop its next-generation magnetic sensing platform, including ASICs and ultra-sensitive TMR sensors, international partnerships are central to scaling impact. The GBIP mission has opened doors to new funding pathways, technical partnerships, and future co-development efforts.
