Neuranics Successfully Showcases 24/7 Heart Monitoring at CES 2024
Neuranics successfully showcased our magnetic sensor development kit at CES 2024, which records the magnetic activity of the heart and wirelessly transfers data over Bluetooth for live 24/7 recording and analysis on a smartphone, tablet, or laptop.
Founded in 2021 as a spin-out from the Universities of Glasgow and Edinburgh, Neuranics recently secured £1.9M in pre-seed funding led by Par Equity. We develop pioneering magnetic sensor technology for applications in health, fitness, and the metaverse. Our patented technology uses tunnelling magnetoresistance (TMR) to detect tiny magnetic signals in the muscles of the arms and body, significantly improving health and fitness tracking as well as human-machine interfaces.
At CES 2024, we showcased our TMR sensors for heart monitoring, which offer magnetic sensing via a single point of contact on the body, even through thin clothing. These sensors are designed to replace traditional 3-lead electrocardiography (ECG) sensors and those commonly used in sports fitness devices and medical monitoring. The heart monitoring signal from our TMR sensors, can offer greater resolution and clarity on heart function than traditional sensing.
Our development kit features the latest Neuranics magnetic sensor, capable of detecting tiny magnetic signals from the heart muscle. The kit also included prototype electronics, a Bluetooth interface, and customisable software for analysis on laptops and an Android app for mobile devices. Developers can experiment with our magnetic sensors, and the software can be adapted to specific requirements. The development kit will be available for purchase in early 2024, with consultation and technical support included.
